Communications Policy

An important guide to working with our team.

Hours

Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Emails, calls, and texts received outside business hours or on holidays will be addressed during regular business hours.

We are most productive when we can work on your projects without constant interruptions. As a result, there will be times when you cannot reach us. We are often busy working on your project, working on other projects, or in meetings. We will reply when we are ready and prepared, which might involve reviewing your documents, doing additional research, or checking our calendar to have a complete answer. 

Phone

We do not accept unscheduled phone calls. This is different from most law firms, which will be happy to let you call whenever you like but then send you a bill for $100 per call.

You may reach our team at 919.536.9770. They will respond to every unscheduled call, but they do not have access to client information and cannot answer questions about your legal project.  

Katherine and Rob have scheduled callback times every weekday and will call you back within one business day.

Email

Emails will be reviewed and addressed within a reasonable timeframe based on the circumstances. We check and respond to emails twice daily on weekdays. This allows us uninterrupted time to work on your projects and attend meetings. 

Appointments

As a client of the firm, you have direct access to your attorneys’ calendars via Calendly.

Document Sharing

By popular request, we use Google Drive. When you became a client, you were provided with a Client Submissions folder; this is the best way to provide documents for review. Drafts of documents we are preparing are shared in your Client Share Folder. If you can’t find your links, please email hello@implementlegal.com.

If you submit materials for review less than 24 hours before our scheduled meeting, we will not review them beforehand. It is your responsibility to use your scheduled time wisely.

Billing

Invoices are sent via Lawmatics, our client management system. Bills may also be paid via Lawmatics. You may access your invoices and payment options via your Lawmatics client portal. If you have any issues using Lawmatics, please contact hello@implementlegal.com, and a member of our team will be glad to assist. 

Emergencies

Emergencies are threats to life, freedom, or property. If you are facing a threat to one of these things, please call 911 (if in the USA).

We can help you with legal emergencies, but they are thankfully very rare in our practice! An emergency mandates an immediate response. If there is an emergency, please call the office and use the word “EMERGENCY” in your description to the team; we will be interrupted. If we determine it is not a true emergency, we will prioritize it and respond in a reasonable timeframe.

Please consider whether the matter is “very important” as opposed to an emergency. Very important issues will be prioritized and handled as soon as possible. We ask this of all of our clients so that we can focus on the matter we are working on without unnecessary interruption.
